Beckhoff's CX8090 is an embedded PC that operates as a control system, compatible with multiple protocols such as ADS UDP/TCP and real-time Ethernet. Recognizing any connected I/O system automatically, the CX8090 uses the TwinCAT runtime environment for programming via fieldbus interface or extra Ethernet. Equipped with features like power contacts, a coupler supply, E-bus/K-bus interface, Ethernet ports, status LEDs, and an address selector, it also has an ARM9, 400MHz processor, a 512MB microSD flash memory, and 64MB DDR2 RAM. The device has CE, UL, and IECEx approvals, an IP 20 protection class, and adheres to EN 61000-6-2 EMC emission standards. With an operational temperature range of 0 to 55 degrees and a storage temperature range of -25 to 85 degrees, the CX8090 must be installed in a control cabinet with IP 54 protection class when used in explosive atmospheres. The unit is typically used with Bus Terminals to record and transfer sensor signals.
