In the reimagined Battlestar Galactica the design of the Cylon Basestar was completely reworked. The new Basestar was an organic spaceship that was as much a being as a vehicle. It was controlled by a hybrid that could perceive things outside normal reality. The new version was designed by artists Gary Hutzel and Eric Chu, who saw it as more advanced than the human ships.
