Like its parent, Cypripedium 'Philipp Dark' is a hybrid of the Chinese nativ e orchid, Cypripedium macranthos and the large-growing North American native, Cypripedium kentuckiense. Cypripedium 'Philipp Dark' is a superb performer in our heat and humidity, forming a robust clump to nearly 2' tall, topped in late spring with large slippers of dark raspberry and backed by stunning, large, deep purple sepals often streaked white...a truly amazing plant!
