The 4-hour substantivity limits its use as a standalone top note, but its value lies in providing immediate citrus impact and fresh lift and it can be blended with terpeneless or folded orange oil to extend its llife. D-Limonene vs L-Limonene vs Dipentene These two molecules smell distinctly different despite identical structure. D-Limonene (the dextro form) delivers the familiar fresh, zesty orange-peel character found in citrus fruits. L-Limonene (the laevo form) smells piney, terpenic, and turpentine-like—closer to coniferous oils than citrus.
