This kit represents the Schwerer Panzerspahwagen (s.SP) in its Infanteriewagen configuration, the troop-carrying version of the German armoured rail draisines used to screen armour ed trains and protect rail lines from partisan attack, principally on the Eastern Front during the Second World War. Unlike the command version, the Infanteriewagen was built to carry a small infantry security detachment that could dismount to investigate or defend the line.Dragon's kit reproduces the vehicle's armoured superstructure, crew hatches and rail-adapted running gear, a specialised piece of engineering distinct from the company's road-going armoured car kits, and one of relatively few models of German rail-security vehicles available in any scale.The kit is supplied as an unpainted styrene injection kit requiring glue and paint to assemble, matching Dragon's companion Kommandowagen release (D6071) so the two can be combined into a small armoured train security consist for a rail warfare diorama.A distinctive addition for collectors of unusual WWII rail and armour subjects looking to build something beyond the usual tanks and armoured cars.
