The Sd.Kfz.2 "Kleines Kettenkrad" was a distinctive light tracked motorcycle developed by NSU, prized by the German army for its ability to tow light loads and negotiate mud, snow and rough terrain that defeated wheeled vehicles. This 2/2 variant was fitted out as a signals vehicle, carrying the sWFK 40 heavy field-cable equipment used to lay and recover telephone wire, complete with its distinctive twin cable reels mounted over the rear tracks. Dragon's 1/35 kit (D6128) reproduces the Kettenkrad's compact, motorcycle-front/half-track-rear layout in full detail, including the opposed-twin engine, running gear and the sWFK 40 reel apparatus, with driver and crew figures included so the vehicle can be built manned and ready for a signals-unit diorama.
