Choosing the Right Screen A projection screen is not a passive surface. The screen gain, material, format, masking system and installation method all affect the image the viewer sees — often more dramatically than the projector itself. Surfaces and Gain Da-Lite offer a range of proprietary screen surfaces suited to different projector types and ambient light conditions. A higher-gain surface reflects more light toward the viewer and suits rooms where complete blackout is not achievable; a lower-gain, wider-viewing-angle surface is better suited to a dedicated dark room with a high-output laser or 4K projector.
