Like all hatchetfish, it is a surface dweller that spends most of its time gliding just below the water’s surface, feeding on small floating foods. Peaceful and shy, this species thrives in calm, well-planted aquariums with dim lighting and floating plants. A tight-fitting lid is essential, as they are powerful jumpers.
