Daedalus is a hemp fabric named after the famous character from Greek mythology, the creator of the Minotaur's labyrinth in Crete. The design features a jagged, serpentine motif fr om the eighteenth-century repertoire, reinterpreted and modernised. Daedalus is entirely handcrafted in Italy (the ground being woven in the Rubelli factory) using Italian raw materials. For the sinuous embroidery, a special cotton yarn was used: opaque, thick, and voluminous, yet soft, it evokes a "handmade" feel. The choice of hemp is part of a sustainable approach, as it is one of the vegetable fibres that requires less water for cultivation and, in addition to being biodegradable and recyclable, absorbs CO2 during growth.
