From one of the newer and harder-to-find Scottish distilleries, this Daftmill release is one of two annual expressions from the craft Daftmill distillery in the Lowlands. Produced from publican barley, distilled in December 2011, matured in 27 first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and bottled in 2024. 7,500 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 46%. (Bottle size 70cl) Located in the Howe of Fife (northeast of Edinburgh), Daftmill is a traditional farm distillery owned and operated by the Cuthbert family. The distillery only runs in the farm’s quiet periods; mid-summer and winter, sometimes producing as few as 100 casks per year. When not distilling, Francis Cuthbert looks after the estate, growing the malting barley he uses to make his whisky.
