The last version of Daiwa’s Exceler range of spinning reels debuted the LT ‘Light and Tough’ Design Concept. Now, some six years on Exceler is getting another major overhaul with the introduction of AIRDRIVE Design. Sporting the newly developed AIRDRIVE ROTOR, 23 Exceler is not only lighter than previous generations, but easier to wind the handle thanks to lower start-up inertia brought possible by AIRDRIVE Design. The new rotor and bail wire totally changes the previous design and makes the initial rotation of the handle light as a feather. A tough, dependable light tackle reel for all skill levels, 23 Exceler is sure to be as big a hit as ever. AIRDRIVE DESIGN Daiwa’s new Airdrive Design, a four pillar (Airdrive Rotor, Airdrive Bail, Airdrive Spool, and Airdrive Shaft) design concept that reduces weight, and enhances rotational smoothness and responsiveness to create a reel that is next level in both form and function. ABS-LONGCAST Compared to conventional spools, the LC-ABS has been shown to increase the average flight distance by approx. 5% due to its reduced weight and modified shape. AIR-ROTOR Lighter, stronger and more balanced than any rotor system that’s come before, ‘Air Rotor’ delivers a great leap forward in rotor design and function and delivers the ultimate line roller support. Made from Zaion and featuring a redesigned arch that disperses pressure to the lower section of the rotor to reduce stressing and flexing, the design is further enhanced with a hollowed out construction reducing weight, while increasing reel sensitivity and rotational balance. ATD-DRAG Daiwa’s Automatic Tournament Drag uses an improved drag grease that exhibits a low viscosity at rest, yet becomes more viscous immediately after drag start up. This reduces initial drag start-up inertia and combined with the structural changes of the ATD Drag System results in a smoother drag from the initial hook up. INFINITE ANTI REVERSE Daiwa's advanced system that limits rearward backplay handle movement to almost zero for solid hooksets with less shock to the reel. The result is the elimination of handle slap-back and the unwanted release of line. SCREW IN HANDLE Simplicity and effortless at its finest a screw-in handle features on our mid to high-end reels. Handle removal is as simple as back winding the handle, or forward winding for handle installation. WIREBAIL Featured on entry level reels Wire Bail is light, strong, ultra smooth and protrusion free, allowing line to slide effortless along the bail towards the line roller. ZAION V BODY A new generation of lightweight Daiwa’s resin and carbon material. The Zaion V material is both strong and incredibly lightweight.
