A commercial-grade latex adhesive for permanently bonding marley and sheet-vinyl dance flooring to an approved interior substrate. This aggressive, pressure-sensitive formula is built for glue-down installations where the floor needs to stay put under heavy studio use. It is Green Label Plus Certified and contributes to LEED low-emitting materials credits, with a low-odor profile that makes it suitable for use in occupied buildings. Key Benefits Green Label Plus Certified Contributes to LEED (low-emitting materials) Up to 2 hours of working time Low-odor formula suitable for use in occupied buildings Aggressive, pressure-sensitive latex bond for permanent (glue-down) installations Installation Instructions Step 1: Spread the adhesive onto the substrate using the correct trowel or applicator for the job (see the spread-rate table below). If using a 1/4 inch (6.4 mm) nap roller, apply a uniform layer to both the substrate and the back of the flooring. Step 2: For smooth products, back-rolling the troweled adhesive with a 1/4 inch nap roller may be needed to prevent the trowel ridges from telegraphing through. Step 3: Allow enough open time for the adhesive to flash off before placing the flooring. Step 4: When the adhesive has flashed properly, the trowel valleys will be clear. If a nap roller was used, let it flash until it is almost clear. Step 5: Protect the exposed adhesive from dust and debris, which inhibit proper bond and reduce tack. Step 6: Lay the flooring into the adhesive and roll in both directions with a minimum 100 lb (45.4 kg) three-section roller. Step 7: Allow no foot traffic for 24 hours after installation, and allow 72 hours to fully cure before placing heavy furnishings or allowing heavy traffic. Spread Rate Coverage depends on the applicator used. Real spread rate varies with temperature, humidity, and substrate porosity. Applicator Recommended Use Coverage per Gallon U-notch trowel, 1/16 x 1/32 x 1/32 inch General installation 200 to 250 sq ft Square-notch trowel, 1/16 x 1/16 x 1/16 inch Fitness flooring 100 to 120 sq ft 1/4 inch (6.4 mm) nap roller Reduced-porosity substrate (applied to both surfaces) 60 to 70 sq ft Open time: 30 to 60 minutes. Working time: up to 2 hours. Specifications Color: off-white Solids: 55% VOC: less than 20 g/L Weight: 8.5 lbs per gallon Shelf life: 2 years, stored unopened at 73 F Storage: 65 to 85 F, kept dry and out of direct sunlight in a well-ventilated area Application conditions: 65 to 85 F Substrate and Concrete Requirements For permanent installations over concrete, the substrate must meet the following limits: Maximum MVER of 8 lbs per 1,000 sq ft per 24 hours (ASTM F1869) Maximum 90% relative humidity (ASTM F2170) Maximum 10 pH (ASTM F710) Clean Up Clean fresh, wet adhesive off the flooring and tools with water. For cured adhesive, scrape first with a plastic putty knife, working carefully to avoid damaging the floor, then remove any remaining residue with ethyl alcohol on a clean, dry cloth. Limitations For interior installations only. Protect from freezing. Avoid prolonged exposure to low temperatures, and do not exceed five freeze/thaw cycles. If frozen, do not stir until the product is completely thawed at room temperature. Not recommended for metal or fiberglass substrates.
