Jah Thomas made his mark on the west Kingston sound systems in the mid-1970s, breaking through with the hit Midnight Rock in 1976. His self-produced LP Dance On The Corner took things to the next level. Recorded at King Tubby’s studio and mixed by Tubby, Jammy, and Scientist—with final edits by the King himself—the album features Thomas toasting over heavyweight Roots Radics rhythms, many of which were previously used by Barrington Levy. Blending laid-back chants, sharp social commentary, and vibrant delivery, this is Jah Thomas at his finest. A must-have for fans of reggae, dub, deejay culture, and early dancehall. Tracklist: A1.
