As the gloomy days of winter near their end, the burgeoning flowers of Daphne Odora begin to appear. Daphne has one of the most beautiful scents in the entire world of flowers and yet it is relatively unknown in its true form in Western perfumery. Historically many Daphne bases existed, but they were of a fantasy type and not reflective of the true Daphne shrub. Adding to its scarcity in fine fragrances is the fact that Daphne plants are highly toxic to man and brute and so extracts do not exist. Fraterworks Daphne Supreme is not a fantasy base but rather a wonderful representation of the flowers in full bloom. As is often the case with winter flowering plants, Daphne is extremely powerful and its odour is one of penetrating citrus, green leaves and white flowers.
