In Dapper Note's words: "The summer solstice is here, which at Dapper Notes can mean only one thing: Dylan Goldberger is back with another collaboration (our sixth!). But we decided to turn it up this year and bring another mutual friend into the mix: David Gallo, a graphic designer, illustrator, screen printer, and photographer from Washington. David has taught me a lot on screen printing, and also on operating my letterpress machine. For this three-way collaboration, we started with Dylan's anthropomorphized animals in a woodcut style, but instead of dogs, we turned feline and to a relaxing summer activity. David is an IRL cat dad of many, many cats, so choosing this theme was a no brainer. The cover illustration by Dylan features cats fishing, and also a teeny widdle fly fishing, of course a play on words, but also a super cute and serene scene. David created several spot illustrations of bobbers, mostly feline-themed and with one hinting to a popular book series (iykyk). The spot illustrations can be found throughout the notebook, packaging, and extras, and Dylan also worked them into the cover illustration as well."
