DESCRIPTION An elegant and regal second hand TON No. 14 barstool, newly reupholstered in Thevenon’s colourful “Josephine” fabric. Black Beauty is an interior stylist’s dream. The chair’s lineage (as part of Thonet’s No. 14 chair series) is instantly recognisable with its famous lines. In its current form, the TON No. 14 high barstool is edgy, modern and colourful. The chair retains a quiet elegance with its classic sinewy bentwood legs, extending like a dancer’s outstretched limbs. The top of the chair’s frame arches back gracefully like layers of flower petals, mirroring the colourful cornucopia on the chair’s seat pad. Place the barstool in a corner of a room, with books casually stacked on its seat as an artistic bookstand. Alternatively, keep it next to your wardrobe as an easy holding chair to drape or hang your outfits as you dress for the day. The chair stands as a dream on a staircase mid-landing, providing an accent and styling corner on an otherwise mundane uphill climb. NOTES ON CONDITION Chair is preloved and has been gently used. The chair shows minor scuffs commonly associated with second hand furniture, but are otherwise acceptable and not unduly obvious to a casual observer. The chair is stable. The original TON label bears some paint marks, and is slightly layering off. We have left the label as-is to provide some character for the chair; this can be easily rectified with glue for buyers who prefer otherwise. The original TON branded bottom seat lining has also been retained. Please see pictures for condition of both.
