By the age of fifteen, he was selling tea cozies to his classmates in order to purchase his bus ticket from old town Bagheria to parts unknown. That was where he met his future wife, Pat, a lollipop and liquor peddler who also was destined for wine country. Together they made the journey over the mountains and across oceans, eventually arriving in the Dry Creek Valley, the new home of Dave's Cuvee.
