Most universal mask pads use generic foam combinations that compress unpredictably under impact, creating inconsistent protection when you need reliability most. The Davis Universal Black Umpire Mask Pads solve this through purposeful material selection: Medium-firm EVA paired with 45 kg/m³ medium-density VPU, each layer engineered to work within its optimal compression range. Unlike typical universal padding that relies on arbitrary foam stacking, our dual-layer system employs specific density grading where each material contributes meaningful energy absorption through controlled compression. Every millimeter of the 42mm total thickness serves a purpose—no wasted cushioning foam that adds bulk without protection, no hollow padding that compresses to nothing under impact. For Umpires Who Demand Value Without Compromise Designed for universal compatibility with the vast majority of traditional wire-weld frames, the Davis Universal pads represent intelligent protection engineering at a practical price. Ideal for umpires seeking alternatives to the discontinued Team Wendy pads or who want to upgrade their stock frame pads. Features Dual-Layer Progressive Compression: Medium-firm EVA and medium-density VPU work in sequence, each contributing meaningful energy absorption through their optimal compression ranges Every Millimeter Working: No wasted cushioning foam or hollow padding—42mm of purposeful material selection where each layer contributes to impact management Universal Frame Compatibility: Fits the vast majority of traditional wire-weld masks, providing an upgrade path for stock padding or replacement for discontinued models. These pads do not fit All-Star FM4000 series or S7 series frames. What's Included Davis Tango2 Universal Black Umpire Mask Pads ⚠️ Safety Disclaimer – Ambient Temperature Sensitive This product uses viscoelastic foam technologies that are temperature sensitive. Below 60°F, these materials become increasingly rigid and lose their impact-absorbing properties. In this state, the progressive compression system cannot function as designed, potentially resulting in higher impact forces being transmitted through the padding. For your safety and optimal protection performance, do not uses the Davis Tango2 Universal Black Umpire Mask Pads when air temperatures drops below 60°F.
