Whatever the weather, our fantastic puffin friend is ready to fly in her RNLI hat. She is named after Elizabeth Hostvedt, an 18-year-old Norwegian student who became the first woma n qualified to command an RNLI inshore lifeboat. Elizabeth the puffin has been crafted by the DCUK company, who transform sustainable bamboo roots and off-cuts that would otherwise be wasted, into wonderful feathered characters. Carved, moulded and painted by hand by local people in Indonesia, each puffin is unique.
