The Yalta Conference brought together the three principal Allied leaders—Winston Churchill, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Joseph Stalin—for one of the most significant diplomatic meetings of the twentieth century. With Germany nearing defeat, the conference focused on plans for the occupation of Germany, the establishment of the United Nations, the future of Eastern Europe, and the Soviet Union's entry into the war against Japan. Decisions made during the conference would shape international relations for decades and lay many of the foundations for the emerging Cold War. DD396 – YALTA 1945 offers collectors something quite different from a traditional battlefield display, capturing a pivotal moment of wartime diplomacy rather than combat. Beautifully sculpted and full of historical significance, the set serves as a fitting tribute to the statesmen whose negotiations helped determine the political landscape of the post-war world, making it a unique centrepiece for any World War II collection.
