De Ca (MP) is a fig that comes from the collection of Monserrat Pons. A famed fig collector from the Balearic Islands of the Mediterranean, Pons is known for exceptional varieties and detailed records of his figs. De Ca (MP) is known for its pleasing aesthetics. It has a round shape with a flat bottom. The figs grow to medium size, around 30-40 grams each. De Ca figs are covered in purple-black skin. While beautiful, the skin may be prone to cracking according to some growers. Monitoring moisture by growing in pots may be advised for growers in rainy climates to prevent splitting. De Ca trees are fast growing and the variety is productive. The figs typically have a closed eye that makes them less susceptible to pests. Although De Ca is an established variety from Pons, it is rare right now amongst fig growers. Try this berry fig that makes a pretty addition to any garden. Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December): We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March. **All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout.
