Village Green is a label that has released some very interesting music over the past couple of years, in the process finding a sound that tows the line between contemporary classic ism, sound art and modern electronic stylings. Their fine run continues on his latest number, a remix EP of the excellent Dead Light LP they put out last year. Andrea Belfi’s rework of ‘Sleeper’ is simultaneously stormy and somnambulant in a manner reminiscent of James Leyland Kirby, while The Sight Below turns the same source material into a piece of Gothic techno. Luke Abbott’s version of ‘Falling In’ comes off like a sort of church fete version of Afrikan Sciences, and Dead Light themselves turn up to give ‘Trills’ a going over. Show more
