Deadly Things2026Acrylic on canvas51cm x 70cm ‘Deadly Things’ is a response to seeing the negative commentson online platforms when any Aboriginal related stories areshared. The boomerang central to the piece represents the manydeadly Black stories shared online, while the triangles representthe continuous hatred and disregard for Black Cultures. Theinspiration for the triangles come from painting walls with aroller. The application of rolling walls pictured in a motion fromleft to right leaves small triangles behind if you take the timeto look at the paint while wet. The white highlights this storytoo, with the notion of trying to white wash what is know asAustralia, a common ideology I see in Australian politics. Likepoliticians and the general public are trying to paint all of thiscontinent with a white brush.
