This sturdy, lightweight Dealgan drop spindle makes Scottish-style spinning a breeze. Its single-piece construction means no moving parts or assembly required - just roll up your yarn leader and spin. It has grooves on the bottom in the shape of a cross to help stabilize the yarn as you wind it. A groove around the circumference of the spindle toward the bottom also lets you easily wrap the first few passes of your yarn leader securely before beginning to wind your cop. The taper is proportional to each spindle size, ending roughly 2/3 of the way up. I set up my printing files with a higher density toward the thinner part of the shaft to add durability and reduce the risk of the upper shaft snapping off the body of the spindle. These spindles are made from industrially and municipally compostable PLA plastic. Please remove all fiber before composting. Sizes available Smaller sizes are best suited to thinner yarns or smaller amounts of yardage. Larger sizes are best suited to thicker yarns or larger yardage spins.
