A fire door only performs to its rating as part of a complete, fitted set, so it should hang in a matching fire-rated frame or lining, on the correct fire-rated hinges, with intumescent strips and smoke seals around the leaf, and on at least three hinges.The FD60 core is denser and thicker than a standard FD30 door, at 54mm, which is what lets it hold back fire for a full hour, and it is edged with oak lippings. It sits against oak skirting and architrave in a matching tone.
