A black and white frame from the Lowcountry coast, with the tide running in over the grass.The cloud deck does most of the work — broken into hundreds of small dark cells that run all the way back to the horizon. Underneath it the water comes in over a bed of marsh grass, and a long exposure has pulled the surf into smooth streaks against the spikes of grass that stayed still. The only upright thing in the whole frame is a single bare driftwood snag, small, well out in the water.In black and white it is mostly weather and texture. It suits a room with hard light. Show more
