Textured or uneven walls can prevent the stencil sitting flat and increase the risk of paint bleed and also effect alignment of pattern repeats. Use a high density foam roller for larger areas or a stencil brush for smaller/detail areas. Remove excess paint from your roller before stencilling – several light applications give much cleaner results than one heavy coat.
