The foam bats should be moistened thoughly with water but not to the point where they drip.The water should be massaged into the foam bat. The amount and frequency of adding water, to keep the foam bats moist, will vary depending on room temperature, humidity and use. To prevent the wet surface from distorting the bottom of work projects, items can be placed on an appropriate sized ridgid plastic or aluminum tray, pan, etc., and not directly on the moistened foam bat.
