Lose your head (literally) in the weirdest, wildest adventure on the system: DEcapAttack for the SEGA Genesis. Starring the headless mummy Chuck D. Head, this 1991 cult classic from Vic Tokai is a masterclass in "spooky-weird" 16-bit aesthetics. It is a mandatory, high-energy essential for platformer fans and Genesis collectors who crave unique gameplay mechanics, bizarre character designs, and a dash of Tim Burton-esque charm. Ditch the standard jump-and-stomp routine and master the technical versatility of the "Head-Toss." As Chuck D. Head, you’ll navigate the skeleton-shaped islands of "Bodyland" to stop the underworld army of Max D. Cap. The gameplay emphasizes strategic power-up management; you must scavenge for magical potions that grant Chuck temporary flight, invincibility, or explosive projectile range. Unlike typical platformers, your "head" is actually a separate entity that lives in your chest—tossing it allows for long-range attacks, but leaves you vulnerable until it returns. With its bouncy, bass-heavy soundtrack, imaginative "gross-out" environments, and fluid animations, this title delivers a definitive and memorably offbeat 16-bit experience on your original SEGA hardware.
