The element traps liquid aerosol in the depth of its media, where droplets collect, grow and drain out, leaving the air passing through it substantially cleaner than the air arriving. Coalescing filtration is the stage that protects everything after it, including air and oil separators, dryers, valves and finishing equipment. Liquid carryover is the fastest way to shorten the life of all of them. Elements are consumable and should not be washed or reused.
