Lightweight Deluxe Bokken 101.5 cm - Buna Made in Japan (Kyushu)Chevroned Spine | Rounded Butt | Long Kissaki Buna Buna, or Fagus Crenata is a very popular wood in Japan for its rather excellent weight/resistance ratio.Not as strong as white or red oak, it is much stronger than Isu no Ki or Sunuke wood and is an excellent compromise for practitioners looking for a lightweight Bokken that can sustain rather heavy chocs. Approximately 30% lighter than white oak, it makes an excellent Bokken for women looking for something light, yet with a standard shape, thickness, and length. This Bokken has an extensive finish: a Hanmaru Tsukagashi (rounded), a Kenmine upper edge, and an elongated Daikissaki tip. On the Tsukagashira (pommel) the workshop's label, a cross, is stamped. While available, other models such as Koryu Bokken or Shoto can be manufactured from the same wood upon request.
