Named after an area that I call home- Denver, CO Not only the place where my first laboratory job post-graduate was at, but also home to the School of Medical Laboratory Sciences of Colorado. This location was a PERFECT career opportunity for a 2020 graduate who was kicked out of clinicals on only week 6 of 18. Every week going in on my days off, I worked here for a complete year while I prepared for my boards to be trained in other departments that I needed clinical exposure in! This Level One Trauma Center in the heart of downtown never had a shortage of workload coming into the laboratory. While here, I also held a role on the ASCLS-CO Board- as one of the Ascending Professional Representatives! This gave me the opportunity to work with current students directly and give them insight as a fresh graduate into the laboratory world. The Denver area is where I called home for 20 years, and where I still go back to in between my traveling work contracts.
