"Stormbringer" is the first EP release from the German black/thrash metal band DESASTER from Koblenz. The five tracks and a KREATOR cover total 21 minutes of playing time and were originally released in 1997, following their debut album "A Touch of Medieval Darkness" a year earlier. The music on "Stormbringer" is deeply blackened, old-school Teutonic thrash metal. Early SODOM and KREATOR appear to be the main influences, but the usual suspects, VENOM and CELTIC FROST, also deserve a mention. The sound is indeed timeless, high-quality, blackened thrash metal, characterized by raw and dirty thrash riffing, harsh, aggressive vocals, and a thunderous rhythm section. And the four-piece delivers it with 100% conviction to this day. Show more
