Desert Basin Inspired by the dramatic landscapes of Utah’s national parks, this piece is a sculptural homage to the natural basins and sandstone formations shaped over millennia by wind, rain, and time. Another piece drawn from my travels, it is my interpretation of these landscapes translated into clay. Crafted in black and white clay, the layered tones and textured edges evoke the rugged contrasts of the desert — from shadowed curves to sunlit planes. The subtle variations in clay tones reflect the way light and shadow shift across the rock formations throughout the day. Each contour and layer is intentionally shaped to echo the natural forms of the terrain, creating a sense of movement and depth. The interior is finished in soft white glaze, while the exterior remains unglazed to celebrate the raw texture of the clay — a piece designed to bring the serene, timeless beauty of the landscape into any space. Created Once, Collected Forever The Statement Centerpieces collection is made up of singular works — no editions, no reproductions. Occasionally, I create a series inspired by a shared theme, yet even within those, no two pieces are ever alike — each carries its own unique character and identity. Once a piece finds its home, it remains exclusive to its collector — a true heirloom artifact, made to be admired and cherished.
