Depth, not size. The medium pouches measure 5.9 by 4.1 inches with 2.6 inches of depth, so they hold their shape when full and suit makeup, small toiletries, and anything with bulk. The flat pouches are actually wider at 7.1 by 5.1 inches but have almost no depth, so they slide into a bag alongside everything else and suit cards, cords, pens, and papers. Same corduroy and cotton lining on both. Choose medium if it needs to stand up on a counter, flat if it needs to disappear into a tote. The other mediums are the Prickly Mauve Pear and the Mono Cactus, and the flats are the Sky Blossom and the Night Bloom.
