This one of a kind kimono is made from a vintage chirimen silk crepe kimono featuring a hand painted landscape. This houmongi style kimono was considered semi-formal. I have taken inspiration from the colors of the original hand painting and embellished the front with hand painted mosaic-style sequins sewn in a rose pattern.  I have also added in-seam pockets and a new silk lining.
