Desert Sky Bradley and Judy Niemeyer designed the foundation pieces and layout for Desert Sky. As one of our most popular patterns for beginners, the Desert Sky is routinely update d to match current fabric collections on the market. The cover samples for this re-release of the pattern were designed by Judel Niemeyer in Quiltster with Expressions Batiks from Riley Blake Designs. A sewing technique called foundation paper piecing is used when sewing the pieces onto the foundation units. Curved piecing and traditional piecing are required to join the units after the foundation piecing is completed. Show more
