Keith Haring's radiant babies and barking dogs are some of the most instantly recognizable images in art. This pocket-sized biography goes looking for the man behind them: the Penn sylvania kid who landed in New York's downtown scene, chalked drawings across subway ad panels and partied with the artists who defined the '80s.Through the places he loved, the people around him and his tireless activism for the LGBTQ community and HIV/AIDS awareness, it paints a warm, vivid portrait of an artist who fought prejudice with joy, and who died at just 31.
