1986 was a good year to be furious. While the Americans were building the Bay Area scene into something MTV could almost touch, Destruction were in Germany making Eternal Devastati on, a record that wanted none of that and sounds like it.Raw, fast and built on spite, this is the album that cemented the Teutonic thrash trinity alongside Kreator and Sodom. It's not a polished listen. That is entirely the point. The riffs are serrated, the production has that dry mid-eighties crunch, and Schmier sounds like he's settling a personal grievance on every track.
