The Detachable Grid offers the operator the ability to attach any pack that attaches via MOLLE to the Grid, thus making any pack into a detachable pack. Packs or panels that attach via zippers can also be attached with zipper adaptors that attach via MOLLE. While packs can also be attached directly to the back of our A-JAC, there are many benefits in being able to retrieve your own gear from your own pack. The Detachable Grid combines these benefits with the pack of your choice. The Detachable Grid utilizes a series of buckles that can quickly be unbuckled to completely remove the Grid from the rear plate bag. The Grid can then be quickly reattached to the rear plate bag once when done. The buckles can be found on both shoulders and one around the waist to secure the bottom. NOTE: Some people ask why the waist strap wraps around your waist instead of attaching somewhere on the cummerbund. We have run this in the real world, and the waist strap around the waist is the most ideal way to run it for 3 reasons: If the waist strap routes over the cummerbund, it makes all gear on the cummerbund much more difficult to get to. If the waist strap routes over the cummerbund and gear is removed from the cummerbund (like a mag from a mag pouch) the waist strap will now be looser, because the overall thickness of the cummerbund that the waist strap was adjusted to has now changed. If the waist strap routes over the cummerbund and gear is removed from the cummerbund (like a mag from a mag pouch) it would be extremely difficult to re-index the mag into the mag pouch. This is to say that it would make a tactical reload nearly impossible. Running one singular waist strap is the fastest way to reattach the Detachable Grid to your Plate Bags. Miscellaneous gear like GP pouches or Medical gear can also be attached in lieu of a pack.
