DevaCurl Ultra Defining Gel is a strong-hold styling gel built for medium-to-coarse waves, curls, and coils that need extra grip to lock in curl definition, using film-forming polymers (a VP/VA copolymer and an acrylates crosspolymer) rather than the sulfates or silicones that can weigh curls down over time.Apply it to soaking-wet, just-conditioned hair: rub a small amount between your palms, scrunch it up into your curls, then leave it in and style as usual without rinsing it out. As hair dries, the gel forms a stiff "cast" around each curl; once fully dry, scrunch again at the roots to break that cast and soften the curls into their finished shape. The formula is sulfate-free, silicone-free, paraben-free, gluten-free, and phthalate-free, and carries DevaCurl's Bright Breeze fragrance — pomegranate, raspberry, and salty melon opening into waterlily and gardenia, finishing on sandalwood and musk. Because it's a strong-hold gel, fine or thin strands may find it heavier than DevaCurl's Light Defining Gel.
