Story DEVO had some strange instruments over the years like the La Baye 2x4 we brought back to life last year. To carry the tradition further, were are adding Bob1's "Whip It" guitar! "Whip It" is modelled after the original that was customized by Bob1 himself during the time DEVO was working on their “Freedom Of Choice” album in 1979/1980. Bob may not have been a pro at customization, but that’s what makes it so compelling — this guitar was “Frankensteined” by an artist who, true to his music, was driven by a desire to do something no one else had tried. Bob1's "Whip It" guitar was basically a Les Paul with the lower horn cut off and flipped over. It is a 24 3/4" scale guitar, mahogany body with maple top, set maple neck, dual humbuckers, dual volume and tone controls with a stop tail and a dark cherry finish.
