Possibly the most personal choice of all as a watercolourist. There are so many different types, styles and brands of watercolour paper, and a lot to consider! As always, a little knowledge and a few pointers can go a long way. All the papers behave quite differently. There is also budget and what you plan to use it for to consider, as well as the way you buy the paper (block, sheet, sketchpad etc) Which you choose will depend on many factors. However, the most important factor is that you find a paper you enjoy working on, and feels like it suits the way you work - it is actually that simple. This will change over time, and to get that discovery you may have to try a good few different papers. I hope this video gives you enough pointers to know where to start, and what considerations to have in mind as you experiment.
