- An Art Deco opaline pendant light with prismatic glass diffuser to the base, English circa 1930. - Bright white opaline glass stepped and shaped like skyscrapers, wonderfully unt ouched original galleries with fabulous patina. - A small light crack on the lower rim, as pictured. - Rewired with dark brown braided flex and PAT tested. - 41cm high from top of gallery to bottom of diffuser plate, 30cm wide, 30cm deep. Opaline Glass Opaline is a form of decorative glassware which was made throughout the 19th century, manufacture was predominantly French, although it was inspired by Venetian Milk Glass, and White Glass produced in Bristol. The popularity of Opaline glass began during the reign of Napoleon and various locations across in England were involved in their production. The opaline glass is characterised by a bright white colour, the high lead content defined it as crystal like, giving it jewel-like qualities across its appearance. Show more
