These colorwork mittens are worked bottom up with thumb gusset shaping. Once the thumb shaping is finished those stitches are put on hold and the remainder of the hand is worked in the round and finished with fingertip shaping similar to what you would find in a hat crown.Additional length can be added to the thumb and hand area by working more plain rows or working additional ribbing rows.
