Condition New — sealed FAQ What's the difference between the DS44 and the DS64?The DS64 has more advanced features — LocoNet support, route programming with multi-output sequences, occupancy detection inputs, and more flexible signal/lighting modes. The DS44 is the simpler, lower-cost option for basic 4-turnout or 4-accessory control without LocoNet. Can it drive Tortoise (stall-motor) turnouts?Yes — set the output mode CVs to "stall-motor" and wire one Tortoise per output. Each output handles the constant low current Tortoise needs. Do I need LocoNet to use this?No. The DS44 is a pure DCC accessory decoder — it works with any NMRA-compliant DCC system (Digitrax, NCE, MRC, etc.). LocoNet is not required.
