A perfumery critic one said this chemical was "lavender on steroids" and while there is much merit to such an idea, Dihydromyrcenol is so much more. It is such an easy material to blend that it can't simply be pigeonholed into the lavender family. Dihydromyrcenol in overdose is the classic material for masculine top notes but in small amounts it adds a modern and very inimitable twist to feminine top notes as evidenced in Gabrielle by Chanel and myriad other scents. Dihydromyrcenol is almost as indispensable as a high quality Bergamot FCF and Linalool these days. A 1:1 ratio with the best Lavender oil you can buy is beautiful and a supremely addictive synergy is created when the same is modified with a touch of Allyl Amyl Glycolate. Ours is a fine quality from Ventos.
