Dimetapp Cold & Allergy Elixir provides a great tasting sugar free relief from cold and allergy symptoms including: nasal and sinus congestion blocked / runny nose sneezing itchy, watery eyes Dimetapp Cold & Allergy Elixir contains phenylephrine hydrochloride and brompheniramine maleate. Phenylephrine Hydrochloride is a decongestant that reduces the swelling (blocked nose) and secretions (runny nose) in the nasal passages and sinuses allowing the passages behind the nose and above the eyes to clear. Brompheniramine is an antihistamine that relieves allergy and hay fever symptoms. It can cause drowsiness. Ingredients Active ingredients per 5ml: Brompheniramine maleate 2mg Phenylephrine hydrochloride 5mg Also contains: sodium benzoate, saccharin sodium, alcohol, sorbitol (16.8g/40ml). Products contain sorbitol may have a laxative effect or cause diarrhoea. Directions Children 6 years to under 12 years: Give 7.5ml every 6 to 8 hours when necessary. Do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours. Adults & children 12 years & over: Take 10ml every 6 to 8 hours when necessary. Do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours. Warning Do not use in children under 6 years old. For children 6 to under 12 years, consult a healthcare professional before use. Do not take longer than a few days, unless directed by a doctor. If symptoms persist for more than 48 hours or are accompanied by fever, discontinue use and consult a doctor. Brompheniramine may cause drowsiness or sedation in some people. Be cautious about driving a vehicle or operating machinery within 8 hours of taking this medicine.
