Portland glassmaker Matthew Abadi discovered glassmaking by accident, when he stumbled into a glassblowing studio after work one evening. Taken with the medium, he moved across the country to apprentice with established talents in the Pacific Northwest. These hand-blown, mini-scale vases reflect the artist's philosophy: "In making glass I intend to create works that are inspired by the idea that beauty can be found in simplicity, modesty and imperfection."
