Christian Dior Germany Open Work Domed Link Necklace featuring a 1980's possibly very late 70's Dior necklace with architectural open work domed links connected by circular rings.
Measuring 46cm long and 2.3cm wide with a 5cm long extender chain finished with openwork lined-up 'CD' hangtag stamped 'Chr Dior © GERMANY'. Sculptural and bold, this is a wonderful statement piece from Dior. There is a little wear to the clasp and high points on close inspection, but nothing to detract from its overall appeal. This beautiful piece weighs 121.9g. This necklace is an estate piece - the lobster claw bothered me a little, but all the other examples I have seen have this clasp, and the wear to the clasp is evident. Although, I have seen this necklace dated much earlier and with various hangtags, I am placing it at 1980's or possibly very late 1970's and believe the in-line hangtag on this necklace to be correct.
